The City of Wanneroo is undertaking a long-term, strategic revitalisation of the Wanneroo Town Centre (WTC), officially recognised by the Western Australian Planning Commission as a Secondary Activity Centre.
This comprehensive effort is dedicated to transforming the WTC into a vibrant, progressive, and prosperous mixed-use community hub. The goals align with creating a welcoming environment that strengthens community connection and supports local opportunities.
Enhance the Public Realm by improving the streetscape, landscaping, and visual amenity, creating distinctive, accessible places valued by the community.
Improve Connectivity and User-Friendliness, focusing on pedestrian-first environments and stronger linkages, potentially transitioning areas like Rocca Way toward a pedestrian-oriented space.
Increase Safety by ensuring public spaces are comfortable, safe, and supported by effective infrastructure like lighting.
Diversify Opportunities by supporting a mix of commercial, residential (including higher density housing), civic, and leisure uses.
While this initiative is a long-term undertaking, significant planning is currently underway, including the preparation of a Precinct Plan to guide future development and redevelopment, drawing on the outcomes of the Wanneroo Town Centre Public Realm Study.
